7 Questions to Spark Personal Development

Updated: Jul 11, 2021

As spiritual beings in physical bodies, one of the main reasons we incarnate is to learn about ourselves. Asking ourselves deep questions can help facilitate that process, so I have come up with a list of questions you can ask yourself to help you get to know yourself better and improve your life.

7. "What would someone who loves their self do?" This is a good question to ask when making a personal decision, such as what to eat or how to respond to a request or invitation. This question will get you in the habit of moving in the direction of self-love.

6. "What does my inner being think/feel about this?" If you're at a crossroads and you're not sure you have enough information to make the right decision, let your intuition guide you. Ask this question and then pay attention to the first thing you feel, hear, or see in your mind.

5. "How can I best use my natural intuitive abilities?" This is a great question to ask when you're working on developing your psychic abilities. Just like the last question, you will let your inner voice guide you to the best path and practices for enhancing your psychic abilities. The question itself will trigger your intuition, and listening to your inner knowing is a great way to practice.

4. "Wouldn't it be nice if..." This is a great question to ask in place of worrisome "what if" thoughts. Most people think "What if?" And they imagine things going wrong. You can do the same thing but imagine things going right, instead. Get creative and imagine something that you would like to happen, and just think to yourself, "Wouldn't it be nice if that happened?" It's meant to be light-hearted, as in, it's not the end of the world if what you imagine doesn't happen, it would just be nice if it did. This is a wonderful way to get positive results from the law of attraction.

3. "If money was no object, what would I do?" This is a fun exercise to try. Picture what kind of career, hobbies, and lifestyle you would have if you knew that you would be financially well-off no matter what choice you made. This will help you determine where your passions lie. The next step is to actually go for your dreams. Start taking steps to bring you closer to the life you want.

2. "What do I want/need right now?" "What do I want to feel right now?" "What would feel good right now?" These are all variations of the same question. Their importance is based on the fact that, when you want something, it's because you believe it will make you feel a certain way. So cut out the middle man and ask yourself what you want to feel. You will then be able to find a way to achieve that feeling that is good for your overall well-being. Sometimes we get in the habit of doing things that we THINK will make us feel a certain way, but they don't get results, or the results are very fleeting, and yet we keep doing it. Cutting out the middle man in this way can help you break free from those habits that are holding you back.

1. "What can I do today that would be for the highest good of myself and others?" This is a lovely question to ask in any situation. It combines many of the concepts we discussed in previous questions. You can incorporate this as a way to start your day, end a meditation, any time you have a moment of quiet, or any time you have a decision to make.
